Bambidie weather station and low-cloud in-situ observation data now in open-access

The two databases created during the project, i.e. the low-cloud in-situ observations and the Bambidie (Gabon) weather station measurements are now available in open access with a Doi as follows :

1 - Cloud observing data of 85 stations in western Central Africa : DOI: 10.35097/1354
This dataset, in netcdf format, consists of cloud fraction and cloud genus data from 85 stations in western Central Africa from 1971-2019. The database is based on the following databases: Extended Edited Synoptic Cloud Reports Archive (EECRA), Integrated Surface Dataset (ISD), Met Office Integrated Data Archive System (MIDAS), and the African Monsoon Multidisciplinary Analysis (AMMA).
The dataset starts on 1st May 1971, covers 3 hourly the months May to October and ends on 31st October 2019. The variables in the dataset cover the cloud fraction, cloud type, homogenized cloud fraction, and a flag for the variables where its origin is. The homogenization of the dataset is described in Moron et al. (2023) and in the meta data description of the NetCDF file.

2 - Bambidie weather station measurements: https://doi.org/10.57932/860bfa75-24aa-4a58-b701-173f162a6225
The weather station was installed at Bambidie, Gabon (lon: 12.9, lat: -0.77) from March 6th 2020 to March 30th 2023. The station measured usual meteorological parameters (i.e. temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed and direction), more specific parameters related to irradiance with 4 different sensors (CNR4: incoming and outgoing short and long wave radiations, SPN1: global and diffuse radiation, PAR: Photosynthetic Active Radiations and CS300: total solar radiations) and soil temperature and moisture at 5 different depths (at 5 (2), 20, 50 and 100 cm depth).
The dataset consists in .csv files for 9 parameters as well as a "readme.txt" file providing the sensors specification, the units and the temporal resolution of data plus known issues regarding some measurements.
